  Chapter 1

  Sabrina

“You sure you know what you’re doing?” Sabrina asked, eyeing the lower half of Q’s body sticking out from under a large pine tree.

Even muffled, she sounded annoyed. “Do I look like I know what I’m doing?”

  “No.”

Her slender, jean-clad legs squirmed on the yellow grass. At least it hadn’t snowed yet. In mid-December, with Cobalt Harbor being coastal New Jersey, it could go either way. Q huffed. “Just hold the tree, brat!”

Sabrina looked at the spiny needles and grimaced. “But it’s pokey.”

Q stilled and Sabrina willed herself to grab hold of the trunk. Ugh. She loved Christmas and lights and the smell of fresh pine trees but she hated touching the sappy, spiky things.

“Get your hand around the trunk or I’ll cut a switch from somewhere in this forest and beat your naughty ass!”

She grinned. As tempting as that sounded, she took hold of the tree and held it upright while Q was sawing away underneath it.

  “And stop grinning,” Q added.

Unable to heed that command, she chuckled. After a few minutes of listening to Q’s cursing and the rustling noise from under the tree, she sighed. “We should’ve gotten a store-bought one like I said. So much easier.”

“No. We’re going to start some traditions in this family, starting with this one.” She grunted and the tree jiggled. “So you and Jude better just get used to having a holly fucking jolly Christmas!”

“Yes, Q.” She smirked. Ignoring Q’s mumbles about bratty subs who don’t know what’s good for them, she asked, “So you used to do this with your parents before they died?”

“Yeah. My dad took us every year.” The tree started to lean and Sabrina caught it with two hands and steadied it. Q wriggled out from under, face red and smudged with dirt. She blew her dark bangs from her eyes. “Done.” She placed the handsaw they’d taken from Jude’s workshop on the ground.

Sabrina looked up at the tree Q had picked. Of course, she had to have the biggest one. She felt small next to it. And they had to get this monstrous thing on top of her little car? She whimpered.

Q stood up and stared at it, smiling. She looked so proud. It warmed Sabrina’s chest. She could never deny Q this bit of happiness.

“Come here,” she said with a small grin.

Q moved her gaze down the tree then to Sabrina. “What?”

“Just come here.” A wave of affection hit and she felt the urge to show it.

After wiping her hands on her pants, she walked to Sabrina. “Yes?”

One hand with a firm grip on the tree, she rose up on her tiptoes and pecked Q on the lips. “I love you. Even when you’re being stupid crazy and sawing down a big-ass tree like you’re Paul freakin’ Bunyon.”

Q chuckled. “I love you, too.”

  “Turn around.”

She arched a brow but slowly turned so her back faced Sabrina. “What are you doing, little girl?”

“Returning a favor.” With the flat of her hand, she swept the dirt and pine needles off Q’s back then worked her way down to her ass. In a bold move, she slapped her hard on one cheek.

Q whirled on her and glared. But Sabrina wasn’t cowed. She held her gaze and smirked. Bold indeed. But Q liked her brattiness. It gave her a reason to punish her. And there hadn’t been any of that in at least a week. She was itching for a smack-down.

“You looking for trouble?” Q asked.

“I don’t need to. It always finds me.”

She rolled her eyes. “I’ll deal with you later. Let’s get this tree on the car. I’m freezing.”

Both of them huffing and puffing, they weaved through the tree farm, Q at the rear, Sabrina in front.

“Stop checking out my ass,” she said to Q as they rounded another corner, car still not in sight. At least she could try to make Q laugh to lighten up the job.

“I wish I could leer at it but there seems to be a giant tree in the way.”

“Too bad. You know, I’m not wearing any underwear.” She smiled when Q hissed in a breath.

“I think we might need a play session when we get home. You’ve been asking for trouble for a while now and I miss spanking and biting that ass.”

It was all she could do not to moan. Her clit throbbed just thinking about it. Ass sore and well-beaten, clit tortured by Q’s tongue. Mmm. Breath trembling, she answered, “Yes, Q.”

“I see the car,” Q said.

Sabrina snapped out of the lustful haze. The car! Thank god. “You really think Jude will be happy we surprised him with a Christmas tree?” He hadn’t mentioned a single thing he liked about the holidays and it was already the second weekend in December. She and Q used to put up their fake tree by Thanksgiving every year, foregoing a real one because of the apartment rules. But every time they’d chattered excitedly about Christmas, Jude grumbled. Sabrina was beginning to fear he was a Scrooge. That simply would not do. The holiday season was second only to Halloween for Q’s favorite time of year. Jude better get on board or Q would be devastated.

“I hope he likes it,” Q answered as they hiked up the small hill toward the parking lot ahead. “He doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about this time of year.”

“Some people just take a while to get into the spirit. He got into it eventually last year, remember? Don’t worry about it.” She hefted up her end and trudged the last few feet.

“Maybe since his dad passed…I don’t know. It might be harder on him.”

At the car, they placed the tree on the ground. She looked at Q. At her worried expression, she assured her, “He’ll be okay. I won’t let anything ruin your Christmas.”

“Our Christmas.” She nodded at the tree. “Let’s get this thing home and in the stand before Jude gets there. Maybe he’ll be happy he doesn’t have to do any of the work.”

With a sigh, Sabrina turned and walked around the car, scanning the parking lot.

“What are you doing?” Q asked.

“Looking for a big, strong man to help us.” The lot was almost empty. Too early in the morning to be busy and the attendant looked too frail to help. “Shit.” They were on their own.

“Come on, princess,” Q teased. “We can do it.”

Sabrina went back around and looked from the tree to the car. “What’s the plan?”

“We each pick up an end and push it on top of the car,” she answered. “Then we tie it on.” Q bent down and gripped the bottom of the trunk. “Come on.”

Sighing, Sabrina did the same at the top. Q counted to three then Sabrina lifted with all of her might. The thing was fucking heavy. She got it up to her shoulders, straining under the weight. Q grunted across from her.

But the dirt parking lot was slippery and they’d parked on a bit of a slope. Her sneaker lost its tread and she started to slide away from the car.

“Q,” she rasped. “This isn’t working.” With a little lift, she adjusted her grip. Her hands were burning from cold and stress.

Her stumble pulled the tree downward and Q with
it.

  “Sabrina!” she yelled.

“Aah!” She slid down the loose rocks and almost lost her balance. But by sheer dumb luck, she caught herself.

“You’re going the wrong way!” Q said desperately.

“No kidding! Do you think I’m trying to put the tree back in the ground?”

“Get back up here! I’m losing my grip.”

She pushed into the dirt with both feet, using all her muscles to climb back up the little slope. “Me too. This was your stupid idea, Quimby! Not mine.”

“Don’t fucking call me that,” she growled.

“Don’t fucking put me in these predicaments!”

Anger fueling her, they managed to wrestle the tree onto the top of the car. When it was done, they both slammed their backs against the car, resting their hands on their knees and steadying their breathing.

“Phew!” Sabrina warmed her stiff hands with her breath. “I can’t believe we did it.”

“I am woman, hear me roar,” Q said sardonically.

A moment later, Q moved from her spot against the car and opened the trunk. She came back around with a length of rope Sabrina recognized.

  “That’s Jude’s Shibari rope.”

Q shrugged and started unwinding it. “It was all I could find.” Focused on her task, Q threw one side over the tree.

Sabrina snorted. “I want it to be known in the official record, I do not endorse this. You can get your ass beat for messing with his rope. Not me.”

  “Chicken.”

“You don’t have two Doms. It’s hard enough having to deal with you all the time.”

Q stopped what she was doing and faced Sabrina. “What do you mean, ‘having to deal with me?’”

Sabrina shrugged innocently, but grinned inside. “Well, you don’t train as easily as Jude. I’ve had to work harder to –”

Q was on her before she could do more than yelp. Pressed up against the side of the car, window cold against her face, Q held her there with a fist in her hair and her other arm across Sabrina’s lower back.

“I guess we won’t wait until later,” she hissed in her ear. “You need a smack-down now. Stick out your ass.”

Hesitantly, she obeyed. This was what she wanted after all. Though she wished she’d waited until they were in the warmth of their house – and maybe some privacy. She glanced around the lot. The attendant had disappeared but no one could see them from the parking lot anyway. The car and the woods sheltered them enough.

“I don’t have time to find a switch,” Q said, “but maybe I’ll cut one later and keep it in the car for situations like this.”

  A soft whimper escaped her.

“Do you have something to say, little girl?”

  “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

  “Hmm? Couldn’t hear you.”

She cleared her throat and said louder, “I’m sorry, Q.”

“Not yet, you aren’t.” She released her hair and took a step back, but not far enough. A stinging swat landed on Sabrina’s ass.

She groaned, wishing she hadn’t chosen to wear thin yoga pants with no underwear. The first three slaps were quick and hard. Then Q slowed down, rubbing and teasing her in between. The teasing was worse punishment than the spanking, and Q knew it.

Her pussy was on fire and the coolness from her wet pants didn’t help. She needed an orgasm. Now.

“Please, Q?” she whispered after a dozen or so smacks.

Q paused. “Please what, naughty girl?”

“I need…more.” It was the only thing she could choke out. Q gave her one more hard whack. She jumped then sunk against the car door, moaning in pain and pleasure.

“Do you think you deserve to get off?” Q asked.

“No. But I’m begging to anyway.”

She laughed without humor. “It’s not going to work this time, beautiful. Get in the car. I’ll finish tying the tree.”

A shudder rocked Sabrina when Q stepped away. So needy. It’d been too long. She rubbed her ass and almost put her hand between her legs, but Q stopped her. “If I catch you touching yourself, you’ll get the brush when we get home and I’ll tease you every night for a week without letting you get off.”

Sabrina glowered. When did Q get so mean? “No,” she said, planting her feet firmly on the ground next to the car.

Q crossed her arms. “Excuse me?”

“I’m not letting you tie the tree by yourself,” she said, then grabbed one end of the rope. “Come on. I don’t want it to fall off the back on the ride home.”

Together they secured the tree on the little car, sending little flirty looks to each other. Anticipation for when they got home coursed through Sabrina, heating her more and more. It was almost unbearable.

In the car, she pressed her legs together, squirming all over the seat to ease her frustration. Q laughed, then slapped her thigh when she got too close.

“Bad,” she teased. “Good things come to those who wait.”

“They come to those who don’t wait too. They just come faster.”

Q smirked. “You’ll come fast alright. But not until I tell you that you can.”

So mean! She pouted for a moment, which only made Q chuckle. Distraction came quickly though. It was a short ride home from the tree farm and her thoughts became preoccupied with getting the tree set up by themselves.

“Maybe we should wait till Jude gets home and can help,” she suggested.

“No.” Q put the car in park. “I want to get it set up before he gets here.” She looked at Sabrina and her lips curled up in amusement. “As long as you don’t distract me too much, we’ll have time.”

Seizing the opportunity, she leaned in and licked Q’s bottom lip. “Distract you?” she breathed, then brushed her lips across Q’s. “How on earth would I distract you?”

Sabrina bit down on Q’s plump bottom lip. Softly at first, enjoying the way Q moaned and relaxed against her. Then she nipped harder.

Q gasped and pulled away. She gave her a frustrated look then grabbed her hair, holding her still while she planted a hard kiss on her lips.

“You’re trouble,” she said. Hand still in Sabrina’s hair, she yanked her up against her body, both of them turned awkwardly in the car. Q pressed a soft kiss on the spot between Sabrina’s neck and shoulder. She turned to jello, her body melting against Q’s.

Then Q bit down sharply. “Ouch!” Sabrina yelped but Q didn’t let go. She sucked the spot hard between her teeth and Sabrina whimpered. Sharp pain flared. “Q!”

Finally, she let go, then smiled in satisfaction at Sabrina’s neck.

In a panic, Sabrina yanked down the visor and opened the mirror. “Q!” She studied the ugly red and purple mark on her neck. “Now I have to wear turtlenecks all week!”

Q grinned. “That’ll teach you to mess with me, little girl. You know better. You ask nicely for what you want and maybe you’ll get it. Either way, you take what you’re given.” At Sabrina’s pout, she shook her head. “Spoiled.” She opened the door and got out of the car, leaving Sabrina to let out a huff and stare after her in exasperation.

“Come on, gorgeous,” Q said, already fiddling with the rope. “It’s getting dark.”

With a growl, she threw open the door and helped Q untie the tree, all the while plotting how to get what she wanted from Q. Or maybe she was better off appealing to Jude. She wasn’t sure which Dom was worse most days. One thing was for sure, she was getting some action tonight even if she had to tie Jude down with Christmas garland to get it. She just hoped he wouldn’t safeword.

  Chapter 2

  Jude

The pine needles and twigs in a trail littering the front steps, the hallway, and the living room doorway were a dead giveaway. Christmas season. Pine tree crap. Jude braced himself. The girls had been a bit more proactive than he wanted to see, today. Or any day. Maybe he should have told them why.

He paused in the doorway, shoes still on so he didn’t poke himself, and slapped his pal
ms into the door frame on either side. A gouge or two in the paint spoke of a close call. There was the tree. Green, enormous, and messy. With his Sabrina and Q somewhere on the other side, giggling. Two big boxes of decorations sat to the left.

The tree was a yard and a half wide, and some of the very top needles brushed the ceiling.

He hadn’t seen such a mess in their house since the camera crew for the ghosthunter show tracked slush all over last winter while they were setting up. A week of dealing with those guys had put both he and Q on edge. They’d managed to get a brief glimpse of Grace, their resident ghost, but Jude didn’t care about that. All he cared about was the way the two guys kept hitting on his women. It had almost come to blows.

Just because three wasn’t a traditional number for a relationship, it didn’t mean they were swingers. People assumed so many things.

Other ghost shows had called for access to the house, but as a family they’d decided to hold off. The excitement of the original photo of Grace had even worn off for Sabrina, their little ghostbuster. Now she had her eye on a cross-country graveyard tour.

“Alright,” he said. “Who’s cleaning this up? And how in hell did you get this through the doorway?”

His annoyance must have gotten through to them. First Q, then Sabrina, crawled out past the lower branches. Both were flushed in the face and had almost as much Christmas tree on them and in their hair as was on the floor.

“We shoved and pushed and –” Sabrina began while still crawling.

“Shush.” Q stood, and brushed off her black jeans. “We’ll clean it up.”

“Good.” He took a step in. “What a mess. You gouged the paint too.”

“Sorry.” The crestfallen look on Q’s face gave him pause.

After glancing up at Q, Sabrina started again. “And when we were done shoving we prayed for a big Dom to come save us but instead we got a big bad wolf who blew it all down.” She frowned. “Or a big bad Scrooge.”

“Sabrina.” He checked his first instinctive response and rewound. “Point taken, but…”

“You might not like Christmas, but it’s Q’s favorite. Her family used to do this every year. It’s important.” She scooted right up against Q.
